Adding a client to the ARCserveIT database
Before you begin to backup your client systems, you will need to
register them with the ARCserveIT database manager.

To add a client to the ARCserveIT database from the ARCserveIT manager:

Connect to the ARCserveIT host machine from a Java-enabled web browser.

Login to the system as either arcroot or arcuser
with the password you specified during asetup.

Click on the Database icon to access the
Database Manager.

Select the Clients tab.

Click Add.

Enter the required information about the client, including machine
name and IP address.

To add a client agent to the ARCserveIT database from the command line,
type:
as_dbmgr -client add hostname [-ip IP Address] [ -os OS Type]
After the client has been successfully added to the client database,
you can access the system.
