Installing and configuring Client Agents

Installing and configuring the SCO UnixWare 2.1x Client Agent

  1. Log into the system as root.

  2. Insert the ARCserveIT media in the CD-ROM drive.

  3. Mount the CD by typing:

    mount -r -F cdfs /dev/cdrom/c0b0t#l0  /mnt

where /mnt is the mount point directory and t# is the SCSI ID of the CD-ROM device. For example, if your CD-ROM drive is set to a SCSI ID of 5, you would specify /dev/cdrom/c0b0t5l0.

  4. You must install the ``pmd'' package to properly license the SCO UnixWare 2.1x Client Agent. This must be installed before the Client Agent. To install the ``pmd'' package from the CD-ROM:

    1. Log in as owner

    2. Select App_Installer from the Admin_Tools folder on the Desktop.

    3. Select other in the ``Install From'' field and type:

    4. Select the pmd package and click on Install

    Using pkgadd:

    1. Log in as root

    2. Type:

      pkgadd -d /mnt/info/as6agent/uw2 pmd
