Installing and removing ARCserveIT products

Upgrading to ARCserveIT

When The UnixWare 7 release 7.1 update is installed, SCO ARCserve/Open 2.2 is automatically removed. Important configuration files, such as the Job queue and the ARCserve/Open database, are retained should you want to migrate these to ARCserveIT.

To migrate your SCO ARCserve/Open configuration files to ARCserveIT:

NOTE: SCO ARCserve/Open 2.2x is not supported on UnixWare 7.1.

  1. Install the UnixWare 7 release 7.1 update.

ARCserve/Open is automatically removed from the system.

  2. If you deferred installing ARCserveIT when installing the UnixWare 7 release 7.1 update, install it now. Follow the directions provided in: ``Installing ARCserveIT ''

  3. Once ARCserveIT is installed, you must configure it. Type:

    asetup

  4. In order to migrate the ARCserve/Open Database and/or Job queue the ARCserveIT processes must be running. To start ARCserveIT, type:

    astart

  5. You are now ready to migrate the ARCserve/Open configuration data.
