This manual describes ARCserveIT on UnixWare 7.
This manual is intended for a person who has some system administration experience, and will be installing ARCserveIT for UNIX on UnixWare 7.
There are twelve chapters in this manual. This chapter provides an overview of ARCserveIT and this manual. The remaining chapters (and appendices) explain the specifics about using ARCserveIT. Brief descriptions of the chapters that follow are presented below:
- Getting Started - Explains how to start ARCserveIT and how to log on to an ARCserveIT domain. It also covers the basic features of the ARCserveIT GUI manager, in addition to creating user profiles.
- Backing up your data - Explains all the options available when backing up your data using the Backup Manager.
- Filtering your jobs - Discusses filters that you can apply to your backup and restore jobs.
- Media Pool and Rotation schemes - Explains how to set up media pools and rotation schemes to use for backup.
- Using GFS Rotation - Explains how to set up an automated backup schedule.
- Restoring your data - Explains all the options available when restoring your data using the Restore Manager.
- Managing Jobs and the Job Queue - Shows you how to use and control the job information found in ARCserveIT's job queue.
- Device Management - Explains how to configure and maintain devices and media.
- Managing the Database and Reporting - Explains how to maintain the ARCserveIT database and view reports.
- Using the Utilities - Explains how to use ARCserveIT's Scan and Merge Manager utility features.
- ARCserveIT's Command line feature - Explains how to use the ARCserveIT command line.
