Log Files (Global level)

You can create a log file associated with the backup job you have created. A description of the fields and their function is described in the table below:

Log File Name:
Type the Log File name here with the complete path to the file.

Log Option
Select whether to log all activities or just summary information (source, destination, session number and totals) and errors.

Output Devices for Activity Log
There are four different output destinations available in which to send log file information. They are:

TNG Alert - sends all messages to the TNG console. (Note: Both the ARCserveIT server and the machine running TNG are required to be configured in order for this option to work. See The ARCserveIT Release and Installation Notes for information on the required configuration tasks.

SNMP Alert - sends all messages to your SNMP messaging console.
Printer Name - sends all messages to the specified UNIX printer local to ARCserveIT server. (Note: The ARCserveIT server selected to send print, must be configured to do so, in order for this option to work.)

Internet Email - sends all messages to the specified Email address. (Note: The ARCserveIT server selected to send messages via Email, must be configured to do so, in order for this option to work.)
