Advanced File and Print Server Quick Start Guide

Reconfiguring Advanced Server

The values used during Advanced Server setup for server name and role, domain name, and Administrator password may be changed once the server is installed and running using the commands:

/var/opt/lanman/bin/setservername

/var/opt/lanman/bin/setdomainname

net password administrator

To change the role of the server from primary to backup, see SCO Advanced Server Administration Guide, Chapter 2, Managing Advanced Server Domains, for information about using the joindomain command.

WARNING: The joindomain command reinitializes the server. All existing user accounts and shares will be removed.

All other configuration parameters are controlled by the Registry and the lanman.ini file. See SCO Advanced Server Administration Guide Appendix A, Advanced Server Registry and SCO Advanced Server Administration Guide Appendix B, Lanman.ini File. Restart the server after making configuration changes.

Starting and stopping the server

Start and stop Advanced Server with the commands:

   net start server
   net stop server
If the server does not start, see "Server problems".
