Understanding frames
The content area of the scohelp browser
is divided into four subpages, known as ``frames'',
when viewing the documentation:
- top left frame
-
displays a hierarchy of topic lists
- top right frame
-
displays either an introduction to the topic list on the left
or the content
- bottom frames
-
display
buttons
which affect the content of the top frames
The top-level page, or ``frameset'',
that defines these four frames is located in
/usr/lib/scohelp/LANG/CONTENTS.html.
To navigate the top frames, use the
buttons
in the bottom frames.
NOTE:
The Back and Forward buttons in
each of the bottom frames in the SCOhelp browser behave differently
from the buttons with the same names in the browser tool bar
and in the Netscape
Communicator
browser.
The SCOhelp frame buttons work within frames,
but only with the UnixWare 7 online documentation set.
Navigating to pages outside the documentation set might cause
the frame buttons to behave in unpredictable ways.
If you leave the SCOhelp documentation,
in some circumstances, you might not be able to return to SCOhelp
using the Netscape Back button.
If this happens,
enter the address localhost:457
(or the name of the SCOhelp documentation server)
in the ``Location'' field.
Some actions, such as saving and printing documents,
affect only the currently selected frame.
To select a frame, click on it.
To resize a frame, place the cursor in the border between frames
(the cursor changes to a cross-hair) and drag the frame border
to a new location.
NOTE:
If you resize the browser window, SCOhelp reloads the
top-level frameset page (CONTENTS.html);
you might lose your context.
