Getting help

Using Netscape Communicator features

Accessing networked documents (URLs)

To open a networked document (URL or Uniform Resource Locator), select:

File -> Open Page

Enter the URL in the field and click on Open in Navigator.

Mailing topics and documents

To mail a document to another user, click on the frame in which the document appears, and select:

File -> Send Page

In the Compose window, enter the destination address in the ``To'' field.

By default, SCOhelp places the title of the document in the ``Subject'' field, the URL for the current page in the message area, and the file in the ``Attachment'' field.

To send the file, click on Send Now (or select File -> Send Now ).

Viewing document source and information

To view the document source (HTML) and URL for the current document, click the right mouse button in the frame and select View Frame Source.

If the document appears in the entire browser window (or you want to view the source for the frameset), select:

View -> Page Source

The URL for the current document appears as the title View Source window.

To get information on the current document (such as the URL, last modification date, and length), click the right mouse button in the frame and select View Frame Info.

If the document appears in the entire browser window (or you want to view the frameset information), select:

View -> Page Info

For more information on HTML source, see ``About HTML''.

Changing the default homepage

By default, SCOhelp starts up displaying the top-level topic list (http://system_name:457/CONTENTS.html).

To change the default homepage to another URL, select:

Edit -> Preferences

In the Netscape Preferences window, click on Navigator and enter a new URL in the ``Location'' field in the Home page section. Then, click on OK.

NOTE: This also changes the default homepage for Netscape Communicator.
