Creating HTML files

Because the SCOhelp system is designed to be open, there are few requirements for encoding HTML files for use with the UnixWare 7 documentation system. Beyond the minimum required HTML tags for the SCOhelp system, vendors can choose the level of integration for their online documentation.


NOTE: Although browsers other than SCOhelp can be used to read the online documentation, the context-sensitive help portion of the system is designed to communicate with the SCOhelp browser only.

Although there is currently no definitive HTML standard, the HTML used in the SCOhelp system should conform as well as possible to the active ``HTML 3.2 Reference Specification'' proposal (dated 14 January 1997) from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) with some extensions and JavaScript enhancements.
