spam

Facilities are provided for managing spam (unwanted bulk email). See ``Managing spam'' for details.

sendmail

sendmail is provided as the mail transport.

Mail Manager

The Mail Manager is provided to configure sendmail.

Message store

A message store is supported, to increase performance.

Message protocols

IMAP4 and POP3 are supported.

MUAs

The following mail user agents (MUAs) are included:

• Netscape mailer (not a native C-client, IMAP-enabled)

• mail/mailx (equivalent) (native C-client MUA)

• PINE character-based mailer (native C-client MUA)

• Dtmail in CDE (not native C-client, not IMAP-enabled)

Multi-homing

Multi-homing is supported with independent alias files and user sets configurable for each virtual domain. The Virtual Domain User Manager is provided to help administer multi-homing for the mail system. This manager is available via SCOadmin.

Filter

A filter for incoming mail which is compatible with the .maildelivery functionality in MMDF is supported.

Vacation Notification Manager

Extended absence notification is supported. The Vacation Notification Manager is available from the Mail panel on the CDE desktop.

mfck

A tool mfck is provided to recover corrupted folders.
