When troubleshooting audio adapter problems, as well as other hardware-related problems when audio adapters are installed, information about the Resource Manager database provided by the DCU utility is incomplete. The DCU database can only display single parameter values for each device in the Resource Manager database. However, most audio adapters consist of several ``sound devices'' on a single board or chip set. For example, most audio adapters have separate I/O addresses for their midi and synthesizer devices, as well as the basic adapter address; only one of these values can be displayed.
All audio adapter configuration should be done with the Audio Configuration Manager, which can manipulate values for multiple devices.
