Device identification
Devices are uniquely identified on the system bus using values
specific to that device type:
- I2O (Intelligent Input/Output)

IOP (I/O process) and IOP
(target ID) numbers
- EISA (Extended Industry Standard Architecture)

slot numbers (starting with 0)
- MCA (Micro Channel Architecture)

slot numbers (starting with 1)
- PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect)

bus numbers range from 0-255
-
device numbers range from 0-31

function numbers range from 0-7
PCI bus, device, and function numbers can
be displayed using your PCI setup program
(if available).
The Network Configuration Manager displays these
values if it auto-detects your adapter.
