Adding or removing hardware controllers

NOTE: If your system supports the Hot-Plug feature (has a built-in hot-plug controller, and power can be turned on or off to selected slots), use the procedures given in ``Managing Hot-plugable controllers'' to add or remove controllers.

To add a new hardware controller or adapter to your system:

  1. Add the controller.

  2. Configure the controller.

  3. Rebuild the system.

To remove a hardware controller or adapter from your system:

  1. Remove the controller.

  2. Rebuild the system.
