Adding and configuring modems

Adding and configuring modems

Modems enable you to communicate with remote systems over phone lines and ISDN channels. UnixWare 7 supports high-speed modems with speeds of up to 115200bps.

To configure a PCMCIA modem, refer to ``Configuring PC Card (PCMCIA) modems'' in the Getting Started Guide.

To set up a modem on your system, follow these steps:

  1. Install the modem.

  2. Configure UUCP.

  3. Test the modem.
