Installing, managing, and removing software

Checking against the pkgmap file (pkgchk -m)

The pkgchk(1M) command compares the file attributes and contents of the installed package against the installation software database. Package entries might have changed since the time of installation. For example, another package might have changed a component. The database reflects that change.

To compare the file attributes and contents of the installed package against the installation software database, enter:

pkgchk -m /install/pkg_name/pkgmap -e /install/pkg_name/pkginfo

pkg_name is the name of the package to check.
