Domain tables
sendmail uses a domain table for special routing, such
as the following:
-
map a short host name to its fully qualified host name
-
map a domain into a source route starting with a host
-
obtain a transport address associated with a host
NOTE:
RFC-822 discourages the explicit use of source routing
within the Internet. SCO supports this opinion, and does not
recommend generating source routes in the domain table unless
absolutely necessary.
