Adding channels

To add a new channel, use the following procedure:

1. Highlight the ``Mail Delivery Channels'' category group and click on Add.

   This produces the ``New Channel'' screen.

2. Enter a name in the ``Channel Name'' field.

   The name of the channel becomes the symbolic name of constructs in sendmail.cf which implement the channel. Specifically, the channel name is used as the name for the delivery agent and a ruleset which executes the channel table lookup. Therefore, this name must not contain white space or any of the token separation characters used by sendmail.cf, which are specified in the sendmail OperatorChars option. 3. Select the ``Delivery Program'' from the pull-down menu. You have a choice of the following:

   • /etc/mail/slocal

   • SMTP

   • /usr/bin/uux

   • /etc/mail/multihome

   • /etc/mail/new

4. Select a ``Channel Table Type'' from the pull-down menu in the field. You have the choice of:

   • Match Unknown Users

   • Look in Name Service

   • Match UUCP Configuration (Systems File)

   • Match Non-Local users

   • Match Local Users

   • File Lookup
