UnixWare allows you to set the type of framing performed by the network adapter driver. You may want to change this parameter if you reconfigure a network segment to use a different framing type.
The following framing types are supported by IPX/SPX:
This is the default Ethernet framing type used by most Novell networks with NetWare 4 servers.
This framing type, defined in RFC 894, is sometimes referred to as XEROX PARC or traditional Ethernet. Most TCP/IP Ethernet-based networks use this framing type.
This framing type for Ethernet is sometimes used on Novell networks with NetWare 2 and 3 servers.
SNAP framing is most commonly used with Token Ring-based networks.
