The LDAP Manager

Specifying a host

At a number of points, the LDAP Manager will prompt for a host identifier. The interface employed is the same in all cases, and is described in this topic.

Clicking on the Select button in the calling window will cause a pop-up window (with a suitable title such as ``Select Host'' or ``Select referral host'') to appear. A list of all the known hosts is supplied, which may be sorted alphabetically by name or numerically by IP address, depending on which option in the ``Sort By'' box is selected.

The hosts that appear in the list may be selected using the ``Filter'' field: for example, to reduce the list to those hosts whose names begin with the letter ``c'', enter ``c*''. Similarly, to select only those hosts having ``152.'' in their IP address, enter ``*152.*''. Either press <Enter> or click on the Filter button to register the specification.

Select the desired host by clicking on its entry in the list: its name will appear in the ``Selection'' field. Click on OK, and control is returned to the calling window.
