Saving database modifications
By default, the ``Save last modification'' field is set to
Off. Select On to save modification and creation
information for any directory entry created or modified at run time.
When an object is created, the daemon attempts to add the following
attributes:
- creatorsname
-
the Distinguished Name (DN) of the creator
- createtimestamp
-
the time of creation
Similarly, when an object is modified the following attributes are
added:
- modifiersname
-
the Distinguished Name (DN) of the modifier
- modifytimestamp
-
the time of modification
Note that if schema checking is enabled (see
``Schema checking''),
these attributes must be present in the daemon's object class
definitions. If this is not the case, any attempt by the daemon to
add the attributes will cause an object class violation, and the
creation or modification of the entry will not be permitted.
