Directory rights
A NetWare user's effective rights on a directory specify the access granted
to the user on the directory and to files and directories it contains
(unless rights are redefined on a particular file or directory).
- Supervisor

Overrides any restrictions set on the directory and all its subdirectories,
and the files they contain. This right cannot be revoked at a lower level.
- Read
-
Grants the right to open and execute files in the directory.
- Write
-
Grants the right to open and modify (write to) files in the directory.
- Create
-
Grants the right to create files and subdirectories within the directory.
- Erase
-
Grants the right to delete the directory, its subdirectories, and the files
they contain.
- Modify
-
Grants the right to change the attributes on the directory, its
subdirectories, and the files they contain; also grants the right to change
their names.
- File Scan
-
Grants the right to see (list) the names of the files in the directory and
its subdirectories.
- Access Control
-
Grants the right to change the ownership of the directory and the rights
that can be inherited by a new directory or subdirectory.
