UNIX mode allows UnixWare users to control access to files on a NetWare server volume as if they were located on a local UnixWare filesystem. Changing permissions and ownership from UnixWare is supported. When a change in access control is made on either the NetWare or UnixWare side, the best possible mapping is done to reflect the change on the other side.
UNIX mode volumes require the NFS name space on the volume and the NUC NLM loaded on the server. The volume name of a UNIX mode volume must appear on the LOAD NUC line in the SYS:SYSTEM\UNISTART.NCF file.
