Accessing NetWare volumes from UnixWare

Example volume configuration

The following table illustrates an example NetWare server with four volumes, and how each is configured for UnixWare access.

The first column lists the four volumes and the name spaces supported on each.

The second column shows the LOAD NUC line from the file SYS:SYSTEM\UNISTART.NCF; it has only the name of the single volume that will be supported in UNIX mode, VOL3.

The third column lists the access mode for each of the four volumes, as determined by the name spaces present and (in the case of NFS name space volumes) the presence or absence of the volume's name on the LOAD NUC line.

Volumes and Name Spaces UNISTART.NCF Access Mode
SYS: DOS - DOS
VOL1: DOS, MAC - DOS
VOL2: DOS, NFS, MAC - NetWare
VOL3: DOS, NFS, MAC LOAD NUC VOL3 UNIX
