NetWare Loadable Modules
Once you install the NetWare-related packages on UnixWare, you will be
able to use NetWare services to the extent that support is configured
on the NetWare server.
Without the UnixWare NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs) installed
on NetWare, you can:
-
use NetWare volumes from UnixWare in the DOS access mode
-
use NetWare printers from UnixWare
-
attach UnixWare printers to NetWare print queues
-
log in to both bindery and NDS environments using the UnixWare
scoadmin(1M)
utility or the
nwlogin(1nuc)
command
-
browse NDS and change your NDS context (using
nwcx(1nuc))
With the UnixWare NLMs installed on NetWare you can additionally:
-
use NetWare volumes from UnixWare in the NetWare and UNIX access modes
-
backup UnixWare file systems from NetWare using the SBACKUP or
other Storage Management System-compliant backup engine
-
use the NetWare console remotely from UnixWare (using the XCONSOLE
NLM)
-
get better performance from DOS mode volumes
