If you made any changes to the UNISART.NCF file as explained in ``Changing a volume's access mode'', then you must stop and re-start the NUC NLMs to load the volumes in the appropriate access mode.
There may also be other reasons for unloading the NUC NLMs.
To stop and re-start the NUC NLMs without bringing
the server down, execute the following two commands at the server console:
UNISTOP
UNISTART
To stop the server, enter the following two commands at the server console:
DOWN
EXIT
To restart the server, type the following at the DOS prompt on the
server console:
SERVER
Regardless of which method you choose, the ``Product Kernel Message Screen'' (loaded on the console by UNISTART) displays a message reporting any volumes loaded in UNIX mode upon starting up the NUC NLMs.
