Accessing NetWare volumes from UnixWare

Cannot use access control commands

If you cannot use UnixWare access control commands on a NetWare volume, then it may not be loaded in UNIX mode.

Begin by checking to make sure that the volume has the NFS name space loaded, following the instructions under ``Configuring volumes for UNIX mode support''.

Once you are sure that a volume has the NFS name space loaded, check the file SYS:SYSTEM\UNISTART.NCF and look for the line that begins with LOAD NUC.

All volumes whose names appear on the LOAD NUC line are loaded in UNIX mode; all other volumes that have the NFS name space are loaded in NetWare mode.

If the line LOAD NUC all appears in the file, then all mounted volumes with the NFS name space are loaded in UNIX mode. Edit the file so that available NFS volumes on your server are loaded in the mode that you want.
