NWXTRACT
Extract and copy files from CD-ROM.
Synopsis
NWXTRACT path_filename | groupname
[destination] [/option ... ] [/? |
/VER]
Description
Use NWXTRACT at a workstation to extract and copy files from
CD-ROM or the installation diskettes to the network or to local
drives.
Options
- path
-
Specify the path to the master data file (FILES.DAT).
NOTE:
Master data files are language-specific and are located in their respective
language subdirectories in the directory tree.
For example, the master data file for English (FILES.DAT) is
located in the \NETWARE.40\ENGLISH directory.
- filename
-
Specify the name of the file you want to extract.
- groupname
-
Specify the name of the group of files you want to extract. A list of group
names is available in online help.
- destination
-
Specify the path where you want the extracted files copied to (if you do
not want them copied to directories they were copied to at installation).
- /option
-
Specify one of the following:
- S=server |server object
-
copy files to their normal location on the specified server
- T=type
-
specifies the type of file to be extracted; supported values for
type are DOS, MAC, OS2,
SER (server), UNX, WIN
- /?
-
View online help. (Other parameters are ignored.)
- /VER
-
View the version number of the utility and the files it uses to execute.
(Other parameters are ignored.)
Examples

To extract FILER.EXE from the diskette and put it in the normal
location on server ACCT, type:
NWXTRACT A:FILER.EXE /S=ACCT

To extract NCOPY.MSG from the diskette and put it on drive C:,
type:
NWXTRACT A:NCOPY.MSG C:

To extract the OS/2 FILER.EXE from the diskette and put it in
the normal location on server ACCT, type:
NWXTRACT A:FILER.EXE /S=ACCT /T=OS2
