Synopsis

PURGE [filename | path] [option ... ] [/A][/? | /VER]

Description

Use PURGE at a workstation to permanently remove previously deleted files from the workstation. Note that this utility removes the files from your client system only. It does not remove any of the files on the NetWare server.

Options

filename
Specify the file you want to purge.

path
Specify the path leading to and including the file you want to purge.

/A
Purge all files in the current directory and in subdirectories.

/?
View online help. (Other parameters are ignored.)

/VER
View the version number of the utility and the files it uses to execute. (Other parameters are ignored.)

Usage

If you do not use /A, PURGE removes only the files in your current directory.

You must have the Delete right to the directory.

If you do not specify deleted files to be removed, all files are removed, whether you own them or not.
