Controlling and configuring the name server
You can perform the following tasks in the DNS Manager
to control the operation and configuration of the name server:

To initiate a zone transfer on a slave name server, select
Options
Zone transfer.

To update the database file of root domain servers, select
Options
Update cache file.
(The command dig . ns provides the new records for the file.)
The named daemon will re-read this file when it is next restarted.
NOTE:
This operation will fail if the name server is unable to resolve the
root domain (.) using the nameserver entries in the
/etc/resolv.conf file.

To test name resolution by the server, select
Options
Test configuration.
Enter a host name or IP address,
and click on Query.

To start the name server, if it is currently not running, select
Options
Start server.

To stop the name server, if it is currently running, select
Options
Stop server.
