Defining default resource records for a zone

Default resource records can be defined to hold the following information about a zone:

The Start of Authority (SOA) record.
Mail exchangers and their relative priorities (MX records).
The administrator for the zone (RP record).
A description of the hardware and operating system of the host machine for the master server (HINFO record).

These records will be used to complete the resource records for zones that you configure subsequently on a master name server. The details entered do not affect existing resource records for zones.
