Configuring Domain Name System (DNS) servers

Examining hosts that are configured for a zone

NOTE: The DNS Manager only displays information for zones for which the host is the master name server. Other name server types such as slave, stub, and caching-only do not maintain resource records for a zone.

To examine the hosts that are configured for a zone, select the zone from the list displayed by the DNS Manager, then select View Records.

If you are currently examining host records for a different zone, select View Zones. Select the zone from the list displayed by the DNS Manager, and then select View Records.

To search for a host among those displayed, select View Search. Enter a host name or an IP address and click on OK.

You can change how the information about a zone is displayed in the following ways:

To sort the hosts in a zone, select View Sort. You can sort by host name or IP address to be displayed in ascending or descending order. By default, no sorting is performed.
Select View Expand all to view all the information about a zone's hosts and the contents of their resource records.
Select View Collapse all to view only the names of a zone's hosts.
To view more information about a zone's or a host's resource records, click on its name to highlight it, then select View Expand. Alternatively, double-click on the name. To hide the information again, click on it, then select View Collapse. Alternatively, double-click on it again.
