International characters
Windows is available localized into multiple languages.
Your users might want to name files
using characters not found in English,
for example, characters with accents.
If not,
you can skip this information.
VisionFS operates in code page 850.
This is the normal character encoding
for most DOS and Windows installations.
-
If your UNIX system supports code page 850,
then foreign characters will appear correctly
in both UNIX and Windows directory listings.
-
On systems that don't support code page 850,
UNIX directory listings might show
filenames using different characters.
However,
the filenames reported to Windows will be correct.
We recommend that your users use code page 850 on Windows.
