Administration

Modifying a profile

The Profile tree is the starting point for configuring the server. To change settings for the server or a share:

  1. Double-click an entry in the Profile tree to show its Properties.

  2. View or change the settings you want. Click the tabs to show all the options you can set.

Some settings let you include placeholders, for example (share-name), to refer to values that aren't constant.

The Profile Editor silently checks changes as you make them and gives instant feedback in a comment in parentheses beside a setting. The setting might not be invalid, but you should check to be sure it's what you want.

Red indicates a problem with a setting. If you see a setting turn red and don't know why, click OK and the Profile Editor explains how to fix the problem.

  3. When you've finished, click OK to keep any changes you've made. Or click Cancel to close the dialog without making any changes.
