Using NetWare Services applications

Starting the server

To start the server, complete these steps:

  1. In graphics mode, start up the NetWare Server Status utility in either of the following ways:

The NetWare Server Status window appears, displaying the server's status.

  2. Click on ``Start''.

    The following status message appears:

The server is coming up. Please wait.

Alternately, the server can be started by entering the following command:

/sbin/tfadmin nwserver

NOTE: This method causes server startup to proceed in the background. In order to monitor its progress, enter

tail -f /var/adm/log/osmlog

A message is displayed when the server is up, and that NetWare Directory Services can be installed. At this point, press INTERRUPT to exit from monitoring the startup log and return to the command line.
