Installing using the command line

Log in to the system as the system administrator. Depending on the medium from which you are installing, enter a command at the command line.

• remote UnixWare install server

  To install from an install server using the command line, enter
  
  pkgcat -s servername: nws | pkgadd -d -

  where servername is the name of the network install server where the NetWare Services software resides.

• CD-ROM

  To install from a CD-ROM using the command line, enter
  
  pkgadd -d cdrom1 nws

  This assumes that there is only one CD-ROM on the machine. If you have more than one CD-ROM drive, enter
  
  pkgadd -d cdromn nws

  In this case, n is the number of the CD-ROM drive in which you have inserted the CD-ROM.

• QIC tape

  To install from a QIC tape using the command line, enter
  
  pkgadd -d /dev/rmt/ctape1
