Requirements
Before completing any tasks in this topic, you
need the following:
-
UnixWare NetWare Services server.
-
Printer(s) functioning properly in their current environment. If
a printer functions properly in its current environment
(non-network or otherwise), it will work with NetWare
print services. If your printer is not functioning properly, see
``Cabling printers''
and
``Troubleshooting printing problems''.
-
Print server, print queue, and printer that have
been created and assigned using one of the
following:
-
NetWare Administrator (graphical utility; see
`` Setting up print services with NetWare administrator''.)
-
PCONSOLE.EXE (text utility; see
``The PCONSOLE utility''.)
NOTE:
If a print server is running, you must
stop it and restart it for certain changes
to take effect, for example, when creating a
new printer, assigning a printer to another print
server, or enabling auditing. However, you do not
have to stop the print server if you
change print queue assignments for printers, create a
print queue, and so on.
