Setting up your network

Before you can fully manage NetWare Services, it is suggested that you perform these tasks:

  1. Install NetWare Services (as described in ``Installing NetWare Services'').

  2. Run the scoadmin(1M) Directory Services Install utility to install the NDS database (as described in ``Installing NetWare Directory Services'').

  3. Ensure that the server is up and running (as described in ``Using NetWare Services applications'').

  4. Create client diskettes to install on each UnixWare, Windows, or OS/2 client (as described in ``Making client diskettes'').

  5. Set up users on the network (as described in ``Managing the NWS filesystem'').

  6. Set up the network printers (as described in Administering NetWare print services).

  7. Install and start the NetWare Administrator graphical utility for Windows or OS/2 or the NETADMIN text utility for DOS (as described in ``Setting up administration utilities'').

  8. Create your container and leaf objects (as described in ``Setting up and managing NDS objects'').

  9. Configure your NetWare server and network using the scoadmin(1M) NetWare Setup utility (as described in ``Maintaining the NetWare server'').
