This topic explains the NDS Trace feature that you can use from the server console. You should use this feature to do the following:

The following list describes the prerequisites: Carry out the following procedure:

  1. Turn on the NDS Trace screen by typing the following at the server:

    dsadmin -s dstrace = ON

    By default, the messages are copied to the file DSTRACE.DBG in the SYS:SYSTEM directory.

    Copying NDS Trace messages to a file may be helpful if you need to ask someone else for diagnostic help.

    The messages are displayed to the console. Two types of messages are particularly important:

    dsadmin -s dstrace = OFF
