General NetWare server variables
Use this procedure to enable logins and configure a console logging
device.
The following list describes the prerequesites:

Access to
scoadmin(1M)
-
System Owner permission to use scoadmin's NetWare Setup
utility
Carry out the following steps:

From scoadmin, select NetWare, then select the
NetWare Server utility.

Select IPX/SPX.

Select General.
The ``General Server Parameters'' window appears.

Set the following variables as appropriate.

Enable Logins? This variable allows or disallows logins.
``Yes'' means all users can log in. ``No'' means only an administrator
can log in. The default is ``Yes''.

IPX Checksum Option. This variable specifies
whether the server validates data integrity of IPX packets.
Valid values are: ``Disabled'', ``Enabled'', or ``Required''. The
default is ``Enabled''.

Device to Display Server Messages. This variable specifies
the device that displays NetWare server messages. The default is
/dev/osm.
NOTE:
Sometimes error messages can take up a large amount of disk space. We
suggest that you monitor this closely and delete unwanted messages, or
reboot your system to clean up files.

Click OK.
