Managing NetWare volumes

This topic describes volumes in the UnixWare environment and how NetWare imposes the concept of volumes on UnixWare. It also describes how to set up and manage NetWare volumes within the UnixWare tree.

UnixWare supports multiple filesystem types (such as VXFS, UFS,S5, and so on). NetWare Services provides these interface types:

• Standard allows NetWare volumes to be configured on top of virtually any UnixWare file system that supports long filenames.

• CD-ROM allows CD-ROMs to be accessed as NetWare volumes.

• NFS-mounted volumes allow NFS filesystems to be mounted as NetWare volumes.

The primary tools you use in NetWare Services for filesystem management are the NetWare Setup and NetWare Volume Setup utilities supplied by scoadmin(1M).
