Maintaining the NetWare server

Viewing a server's packet traffic

You can view the SAP traffic coming in and going out of the server by typing track on at the UnixWare command line. The output is displayed directly to the UnixWare console unless redirected. Type track off to stop viewing the packet traffic. See the track(1Mipx) manual page for details.

To view packet traffic for RIP, SPX, or NCP, you will need to use a LAN analyzer.

NOTE: These commands should be used only if absolutely necessary. You do this when the client cannot see the server and you need to verify that the other servers on the network are communicating with each other.

Other utilities that may be helpful are ipxinfo(1ipx) and nwsapinfo(1ipx).
