Installing and setting up your network

To set up your UnixWare NetWare Services network, carry out the following tasks:

  1. Install the server and client software. See Installing NetWare Services.

  2. Understand NetWare Directory Services(TM) (NDS) by reading Administering NetWare Directory Services.

  3. Set up NDS objects, such as organizations, groups, and user accounts. Refer to ``Setting up and managing NDS objects'' for details of NDS objects.

  4. Set up your NetWare protocol stacks and networking environment. See ``Maintaining the NetWare server'' for information.

  5. Set up your filesystem and install your network applications: ``Managing the NWS filesystem'' contains planning guidelines and instructions for creating directories and installing applications.

  6. Plan and create login scripts if desired. ``Customizing the user environment'' explains the types of login scripts you can create for network users.

  7. Set up printing. See Administering NetWare print services for information and instructions.

  8. Set up UnixWare, DOS, Windows, and OS/2 workstations from the client diskettes. See Administering NUC Connectivity for information and instructions.
