Connecting a local printer to a NetWare print server (Nprinter)
Use this procedure to make your local printer available to
NetWare users. When you connect a local UnixWare system printer to a
NetWare print queue, print jobs sent to that queue can be serviced by
the local printer. You should only make one local printer available
for use by any given NetWare queue. Otherwise, print jobs could print
out on any available, local printer and users might have difficulty
finding their printouts.
-
In the
Printer Setup Manager,
select the printer from the main list and select
Printer
Nprinter.
-
Enter the name of the NetWare Server that contains print
servers that can route jobs to your printer, or use the
Select button to choose from a list.
If you are not already logged into the server, a NetWare login
screen is displayed; enter the login and password when prompted.
If the server is a NetWare 4.x server,
you can also enter a NetWare Directory Services (NDS) context.
-
Enter the Netware Print Server name
or use the Select button to choose from a list.
-
Enter the NetWare Print Queue name or use the
Select button to choose from a list. This must be set up on
the NetWare system as a NetWare print queue.
NOTE:
The Pserver NLM (NetWare Loadable Module)
must be running on the NetWare system.
