Using the System Defaults Manager

Use System Defaults Manager to change defaults associated with system utilities. It is accessible from the System folder of the scoadmin(1M) launcher, or by entering scoadmin system def on the command line. The System Defaults Manager displays a list that describes the function and the associated utility or application. See ``System default files'' for a description of most files in /etc/default.

NOTE: The System Defaults Manager allows you to make changes on an entire set of machines at one time using the Host

Host Group menu selection. See ``Managing host groups'' for more information.

The ``h'' accelerator key selects only the Help menu in the System Defaults Manager. Use the mouse or <Tab> and <Space> keys to select the Hosts menu.

To edit a default file, select a file from the list and select Defaults Modify.

You can navigate the file with the traditional edit keys, including the arrow, <Home>, <End>, <PgDn>, and <PgUp> keys. You can make insertions by placing the cursor where desired and entering text. Use the <Bksp> key to make deletions. Click on OK when your changes are complete.

NOTE: The defaults are stored in the /etc/default directory.
