Inputting Japanese characters

Using character code numbers

To input kanji characters using character codes:

  1. Press <F5> to choose the code type. The available code types are:

    The icon on the status bar displays the current code type.

  2. Enter the appropriate code for the character; for example, the (double-width) letter ``A'' has an EUC code of a3c1. If ``a3c1'' is entered, it is automatically converted to ``A''.


NOTE: In this mode, hexadecimal input is expected: only ``0''-``9'', ``a''-``f'' and ``A''-``F'' can be input.
