Note that the jale package must have been installed on your system prior to using sjxm. You can check this by entering /bin/pkginfo -l | grep jale at a shell prompt. Use the pkgadd(1M) utility to install this package if necessary.
The kana-kanji conversion server, /usr/bin/sj3serv, must be running. In the Japanese environment, sj3serv is executed when UnixWare 7 boots up (see the scripts /etc/rc1.d/K18sj3serv or /etc/rc2.d/S82sj3serv).
The input method server, sjxm, must be running before you start the application window in which you wish to enter Japanese characters. If sjxm is not running (check using ps -ef | grep sjxm), then enter /usr/bin/X11/sjxm &. The sjxm icon appears.
