When backing up files you can apply either encryption or compression, or both. In order to use encryption, you need a Client Agent that supports that feature. In addition, you can apply either encryption or compression locally to a particular volume, or globally to the entire backup job.
To encrypt data files during backup, following the steps below:
Select the Options button from the ARCserveIT Menu Button bar, then select the Session Password tab.
To encrypt files on a per volume basis:
Once the volume is selected, click on the Session Password tab.
4. Re-enter the session password into the Confirm password field.
To apply a software-type compression to the files selected for backup, follow the steps below:
Select the Options button from the ARCserveIT Menu Button bar, then select the Session Password tab.
To compress files on a per volume basis:
Once the volume is selected, click on the Session Password tab.
