To make a media to media copy (i.e., duplicate a tape), you will need two drives that use the same type media. Also, the media should be the same size and length.
You can only copy to a blank media. If you insert a media into the destination drive that hasn't been formatted by ARCserveIT (and has data on it written by another application), then ARCserveIT will treat that media as a blank media, and any information on that media will be destroyed.

In this example, the source drive is part of group1 and the destination drive is part of group2. The source drive contains the media you want to copy, and the destination drive contains a blank media.
