Database Log

The database Log contains information pertaining to all possible database activities.

The log also contains information about media jobs, including:

• Backups
• Formatting
• Media deletions
• Media erasures
• Media pool operations
• GFS operations
  

  The Database Log also provides information regarding the creation of any new structures in the database, such as new media pools or the creation of remote clients.

  This log will also provide information if a particular backup job ended abruptly or was prematurely terminated.

Why would you need to view this log?

Normally, you should only need to view this log if you are directed by a Computer Associates Technical Support Engineer.

An example may be the need to verify if certain parameters of various database objects are stored in the proper format.
