If you have some experience using ARCserveIT, you will be able to merge media using these steps.
1. Select the Merge icon from the ARCserveIT server's home page.
All Merge operations start from the Merge Manager window.
2. Specify which media you want to merge.
Media currently loaded in each device will be displayed under each device group, once each group is expanded.
If the media you want to merge is not currently in a device, enter the name of the media you want in the Media Name field.
3. Indicate if you are merging all information from the media or only from a specific session.
If you want to merge all information from the media, select the All Session option. The default when selecting this option is for ARCserveIT to merge only the first sequence on any given media or set of media. To merge all data on the currently loaded media, select Current media in drive.
If you know the session(s) you want to merge, then you can select the Range option and specify the session or range of sessions.
If you do not know the session number, you can use the Scan utility to list the contents of the media, including all session numbers. See `The Scan utility' for more information.
If you prefer, you can use the Media Name field to enter the name of media not currently loaded. ARCserveIT will prompt you for the media before the merge job runs.
4. Select the Submit button to run the job.
The result of the merge job will be displayed within the Job Status Job Log, and within the Activity Log file. Both of these log files are viewed via the Report Manager.
